Biggie "Juicy" Cover by Emily Wells~

Kinda dig it! Love how she says "Alize keeps me pi**y, the girls used to diss me now they write letters cuz they miss me"

Thought Provoker Thursday~

Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently, they’re not fond of rules, and the have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them, because they change things. They invent. They imagine. They heal. They explore. They create. They inspire. They push the human race forward. Maybe they have to be crazy. How else can you stare at a blank canvas and see a work of art? Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written? Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels? We make tools for these kinds of people. While some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that do.

Soap & Skin~ Thanatos --- Brother of Sleep ---

This song is dark, but sooo beautiful. Thanatos is the brother of sleep & the son of Night in poetic terms.

In Greek mythology, Thanatos (θάνατος, "death") was the personification of death (Roman equivalent: Mors). He was a creature of bone-chilling darkness. He was a son of Nyx and twin of Hypnos. He plays little role in the myths. He became rather overshadowed by Hades the lord of death. Night, the destructive, brought forth a horde of villainous immortals. Thanatos was one of that wretched lot.
Nights offspring are described as "horrible, painful, cruel, brooding, mocking and malignant." (Theogony, 212). (The one exception is "loving Affection" who is placed between Deception and Old Age.)

In art, Thanatos was depicted as a young man carrying a butterfly, wreath or inversed torch in his hands. He sometimes has two wings and a sword attached to his belt.

Get Your Mond Right Monday~

"Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you & persecute you"

Coco Rosie~

I'd wear your black eyes, bake you apple pies, I don't ask why. I'll be by your side even when you're down and out.

Monday

Empathize~

Practice empathy, make it a habit to try to place yourself in the shoes of another person. Any person, loved ones, co-workers, people you meet on the street. Really try to understand, to the extent that you can, what it is like to be them, what they're going through & why they do what they do.

Some people think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and seize it. But the functions of intellect are insufficient without courage, love, friendship, compassion and empathy

I don't believe that children are born with empathy. It is something they learn by seeing it modeled by others. Empathy is the lovefire of sweet remembrance and shared understanding

What happened to FRESH?

So a while back FRESH used to mean different, standing out from a crowd, cool. The FRESHest kid on the block was the one that could throw some crazy ish together and make it look rad; but then fresh changed, it became media driven and brands were out guerilla marketing like beasts. So now kids got this idea that you're not cool if you don't wear name brands like Abercrombie & Fitch, Ed Hardy, Nike, Aeropostale,  Bebe, etc. you get it. It's like the opposite of "FRESH" now, it's like "Oh hey look at me I am one in a billion wearing the same ish everybody else is". Basically you are paying a lot of money to look like a carbon copy of someone else. Stop the non-sense, get you some scissors, a sewing kit, don't be afraid to tear some ish up. Don't be afraid to mix different colors or designs. You got a lot of t-shirts? Re-craft them, add hats to your wardrobe, go GOODWILL hunting, point is just get creative and have fun! Style is a creative expresssion of who you are and isn't just applied, it permeates.

Just a couple of my favorite, FRESH, stylish folks:

Vashtie Kola

Pharrell...duh

Eva Mendes

If you don't know you better ask somebody

Jackie O

Elizabeth Taylor

Andre 3000

Rachel Roy

Get Your Mind Right Monday~

Until one is committed
There is hesitancy, the chance to draw back,
Always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation),
There is one elementary truth,
The ignorance of which kills countless ideas
And splendid plans: That the moment one definitely commits oneself,
Then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one
That would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision
Raising in one's favor all manner
Of unforeseen incidents and meetings
And material assistance,
Which no man could have dreamt
Would have come his way.
I have learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets:
"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."
