Change~

Even in the darkest person there is a light. No matter how low, or how high you may feel in your life there is a possibility of hope and light in each person. I really believe that. I see possibilities in everyone. I don't care how much a man may consider himself a failure, I believe in him, for he can change the thing that is wrong in his life anytime he is prepared and ready to do it. Whenever he develops the desire, he can take away from his life the thing that is defeating it. The capacity for reformation and change lies within.

Part of what I see holding people back from achieving happiness in their life is falling into the 'victim' syndrome. I know you know someone like this (it may be you)...the one who always feel's it wasn't his fault, feel's sorry for himself, has an excuse for why his life is the way it is;  and therefore can not pick up and start fresh. This is so not true, believe me it is never too late to start fresh. Don't let your past deter you from the road of possibility. We may feel at times like we don't deserve to be happy, we don't deserve to be treated well, we have done too much damage to re-create ourselves. The truth is every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future, it is from being ruined that we can transform. Ruin is a gift. 

Take the first step, you do deserve it. It may be painful to come to terms with who you were or have become, but it is enlightening to discover where you are going. Understanding that change is inevitable and happiness is a choice.  Evaluating yourself and your environment I think is the most imporant. If the places you are hanging out at or the people whom you surround yourself with are not helping to inspire you to be the higher you, then you need to let them go. It is going to be hard but remember letting go is not the end of the world, it's the start of a new life. Misery tends to love company, is an understatement.

Once you get past this step, the doors of opportunity will arrive. If your intentions are good in what ever you do, I believe you will be blessed with the riches of love and happiness. Remember you receive what you put out in the world, so be kind, be honest, be gracious, be humble, do these things without expecting anything in return and you will be well on your way to the start of an amazing spiritual journey.

I really could be here talking for hours but i just want to leave you with some very inspiring words from a great book and movie that has significant meaning for me.

The rule of Quest Physics goes something like this: If you're brave enough to leave behind everything familiar and comforting, which can be anything from your house to bitter, old resentments, and set out on a truth-seeking journey, either externally or internally, and if you are truly willing to regard everything that happens to you on that journey as a clue and if you accept everyone you meet along the way as a teacher and if you are prepared, most of all, to face and forgive some very difficult realities about yourself, then the truth will not be withheld from you."

"There is so much about my fate that I cannot control, but other things do fall under the jurisdiction. I can decide how I spend my time, whom I interact with, whom I share my body and life and money and energy with. I can select what I can read and eat and study. I can choose how I'm going to regard unfortunate circumstances in my life-whether I will see them as curses or opportunities. I can choose my words and the tone of voice in which I speak to others. And most of all, I can choose my thoughts"
