These images invoke the deep and multi-faceted face of Jessica Alba. Surely one that I am sure we all would like to see more of. These can be found in GenLux Summer 2010 magazine. The article promotes Alba's new film "The Killer Inside Me" in which she portrays a seductively smitten prostitute. The trailer is included below.
Killer taste indeed:
"Alba is both gloriously sensual and deeply touching, a distinctly human presence in a world gone wrong" - Stephanie Zacharek
Yes I know I have been out of the loop for a minute, actually a long minute. I really have neglected my beautiful blog which I know misses me, haha. It isn't that I have not wanted to post but I just haven't had any time. I have a new and amazing position and therefore have been training like crazy. Don't worry I will be back and consistently on top of my blog though as soon as I can. In the mean time I hope you all have a safe & super fun 4th of July weekend! Peace, light and blessings. ~GV
In the mean time, in between time...let's all just have a good time!
The Optimist Creed:
Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet. To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble. To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds. To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.
Artist: Stevie Nicks Song: Landslide Album: 1975 Fleetwood Mac
I love this song for sentimental reasons; it was written in 73-74 while Nicks was in Aspen. Inspired by the beautiful mountains, her Fathers health, and her reflection of the path she was embarking upon.
"I've been afraid of changing
'Cause I, I´ve built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I'm getting older too...
I'm getting older too...
So, take this love, take it down
Oh if you climb a mountain and you turn around
If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide will bring you down, down
And If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well maybe...the landslide will bring you down
Well well... the landslide will bring you down"
Tammi Terrell, definitely my favorite Motown female recording artist; she paired with Marvin Gaye to record some of the most amazing music out there. At just 24 Tammi passed away due to a brain tumor. Marvin Gaye was so distraught with her death that he took a 4 year break from the music business to engage in some soul introspection. Gaye's 1971 album What's Going On was said to have been written in part to Terrell's passing. April 29, 1945 – March 16,1970
Progressive art can assist people to learn not only about the objective forces at work in the society in which they live, but also about the intensely social character of their interior lives. Ultimately, it can propel people toward social emancipation.
